16 Sarah K. Correll is a 2016 graduate of the Purdue University College of Agriculture with a major in agricultural economics. Her interest in the topics of high school graduation and college-going rates developed during her term as a member of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. When not studying or working on her research, Correll keeps busy with student activities and organizations and serving as a 500 Festival Princess Ambassador. In August 2016, Correll will begin law school at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She plans to practice law or work in state government in Indiana. Larry DeBoer is a professor and extension specialist in agricultural economics at Purdue University. He joined the Purdue faculty in 1984. His research and extension work includes state and local government budgets, local taxing options, and property tax issues, especially farmland assessment. He teaches an introductory macroeconomics class with an enrollment of more than 300 each semester. DeBoer was awarded Purdue’s Hovde Award for service to the rural people of Indiana in 2009. In 2015 he received the College of Agriculture’s Kohls Award for undergraduate teaching, and the Murphy Award, Purdue University’s highest award for undergraduate teaching.
